If you are one of the unlucky people who got bad microblading, you may be wondering what to do. Microblading is a popular beauty procedure that can give you beautiful, natural-looking eyebrows. However, if it is done poorly, it can look terrible. In this blog post, we will discuss the risks of microblading and how to let them fade. We will also offer tips on how to find a new artist to cover up your bad microblading.

What Is Microblading?

Bad Microblading

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing technique that involves using fine needles to deposit pigment under the skin. The results are supposed to be natural and realistic, as if you were born with perfectly shaped eyebrows. However, if the artist is not skilled or experienced, the results can be disastrous. Poor microblading can result in uneven, patchy, or completely missing eyebrows. Not to mention if the artist isn’t skilled with color theory you might end up with a terrible color that doesn’t look right on your skin. It can also cause scars, infections, and other complications.

Risks of Microblading

Microbalding

As we mentioned before, poor microblading can lead to disastrous results. In some cases, it may even cause scarring. It can also lead to infections, since the artist is essentially making small cuts in your skin. If the artist isn’t using sterile equipment, you could end up with a serious infection. You may also have an allergic reaction to the ink or pigments used in microblading.

So what do you do if you had bad microblading? Here are the steps you should follow to fix your bad microblading.

How To Fix Bad Microblading

Let Them Heal

The first thing you should do when you get bad microblading is to let them heal first. When you first get microblading the color will be darker until it fully heals which can take a couple of months to do. If you try to fix bad microblading too soon, it can make it worse.

Let Them Fade

Fade Your Bad Microblading
This client bad a bad brow experience so we did a correction with our Powder Brow Technique.

The best way to fix bad microblading is actually to let them fade on their own. This can take up to 6-8 months for the color to fade if you don’t get a touch up. If you want to speed up the fading process, which you will likely do if you don’t like them, you should not follow the aftercare instructions. Here are some ways to fade your brows.

  1. Sweat with Exercise – When you sweat it will help as a dissolving agent for the pigment in the skin. You want to be dripping in sweat at lease 3x per week.
  2. Cleanse Your Skin– Gently cleanse your eyebrows every morning and night with a gentle cleanser. You don’t want to scrub them hard, which can cause scarring, but just gently cleanse them. As they heal you can begin to use an exfoliats into your skin care routine.
  3. Get A Facial – Facials are used with cleansers and exfoliants that clean the upper layers of the skin. This process will naturally get rid of the pigment.
  4. Sauna – Using a sauna will help you to sweat out and detox your body. If you don’t want to exercise to the point of dripping in sweat you can use a sauna instead.
  5. Don’t Get A Touch Up– If you want your brows to fade don’t go to your touch up appointment as they will add more pigment to your skin.

    Get Saline Tattoo Removal

    Saline Tattoo Removal

If you had really bad microblading and just want them removed altogether consider getting a saline tattoo removal. A specialist will apply a saline solution to your brows which will cause the ink to lift from your skin over a period of time. It might take several sessions to fully remove your microblading but well worth it if you want them removed.

Find A New Artist For Correction

If you want to get microblading again, you should find a new artist who is experienced and can give you the results that you want. Make sure to do your research before getting microblading done so that you don’t end up with bad microblading.

What Should You Look For In A New Artist?

-Research their work and look at before and after pictures

-See if they have any microblading certifications

-Read reviews from past clients. Do they have any negative reviews? Do they have 5 Stars?

-Do they offer correction work? Some of the best permanent makeup artists will offer correction work.

Ask around for recommendations from friends or family who have gotten microblading done before. Once you find an artist that you feel comfortable with, you can begin the process

    Consider Powder Brows

This client had lots of scaring from Microblading and turned red/pink/blue/grey so we color corrected the work with our Ombre Powder Brows Technique. The color will fade 30-40%.

If you had bad microblading , you may want to consider getting powder brows. This is a form of permanent makeup that uses a machine instead of a hand tool. The machine makes tiny incisions in the skin and then fills them with pigment. Powder brows will give you the look of natural, full eyebrows without any hair strokes. And is a great cover up technique to bad microblading if you aren’t happy with the shape or color of your current brows.
